Virtualization

Consolidate and Speed up!
Keeping separate applications running on their own server has long been a winning strategy that helps you avoid the domino effect of one application’s upgrade requirements impacting the hardware on which another application resides.  The downside is realized when you suddenly have dozens of physical servers all performing unique tasks, all demanding the most precious and expensive IT resource of all: human interaction.  Virtualization technologies are increasing in sophistication and reliability every single day.  KTC has a long track record of migrating multiple application and file servers to a much more manageable set of virtual servers and many fewer physical machines.

Testing, Backup, and Contnuity
The power of virtualization lies in the fact that all aspects of the server are encapsulated in a single file folder.  A single physical machine can run numerous virtual machines (VMs) under every conceivable operating system.  Replicating a server for testing, development and backup is now a simple matter of copying a specified server’s folder to another location while the existing live virtual server continues to run uninterrupted.  This makes testing new processes a breeze and eliminates the risk to your live data.  This also means that creating a complete backup of your active live servers is a simple copy-and-paste operation.  If a physical device fails, just paste the latest copy of your servers to a new machine and your business keeps running!
